We began seeing Alex in the summer, the school referred him as his self-esteem was noticeably low and he was being distracted easily in class.
In one session activity, he scored himself low on feeling valued by others. We then spent the following sessions looking at self-esteem activities and setting simple tasks for him to do at home, to help achieve his goal of feeling more valued and purposeful.
When Alex was coming to the end of year 6, we worked on some transitioning activities to support his step into a new school. We have since visited him twice in his new secondary school. He’s adapted amazingly well to ‘big school’ life and did an excellent job of showing us around the school grounds. We were proud to see how confident and happy he felt in his new surroundings.
