Schools Work

The Matrix Trust places professional Relational Youth Workers in many of the secondary schools in Guildford. Our Relational Youth Workers are permanently based in school and become part of the school community. Whilst our Youth Workers are not counsellors, they offer a 'listening ear' in one to one meetings with students. They cover a range of topics such as bereavement, friendship and family issues, exam worries, self- harm and much, much more. In addition, they also offer self- esteem courses, organise trips, and help with lessons and assemblies.

We currently have Relational Youth Workers in:
• George Abbott School
• Guildford County School
• Kings College, Guildford
• Howard of Effingham School
• Ash Manor School

"Matrix is our go- to partner of choice to support our most vulnerable students - their track record at Kings is outstanding." - Kate Carriett, Head Teacher at Kings College.

"We love that Matrix offer support to the highest need young people living in the area. Matrix are skilled at building relationships and achieving positive outcomes for young people with complex needs." Maud Perry, Deputy Headteacher, Student Development at George Abbott.
